The Ready One app was conceptualized as a "one stop shop" application library for accessing and managing software. The push behind designing this application was to replace the current software "store" with a more robust system that would also inventory all our internal, custom applications. The MVP for the launch would have shown key features, a description, and a "why you need this" for each software or web application. The Ready One app would have administrators to manage access to applications and what applications would be granted use within the organization.

When I first started at the NCAA, I was tasked with improving the user experience of their internal, custom applications. After much research, my assessment led me to advocating for a more modern approach to their applications which were all using legacy code. The latest applications were moving toward Vue.JS with Vuetify as the component library. Once the approval that framework came through, I began programing and design of a reusable template in Vue.JS. In the process, I was also developing the design system to govern the look and feel of our applications, for the developers to follow.

This template was initially written in Vue2 and Vuetify2 using SCSS and design tokens. The most current version, as of August 2026, of the template is Vue3 and Vuetyify4 with a full refactor of the SCSS.

The NCAA Style guide was constructed in conjunction with the Vue.JS template and to a lesser degree a Bootstrap 5 template, along with establishing a more formal design system/pattern library. Access to the Figma pattern library and design system was limited by licensing and certain governance issues resulting in a easy access, web style guide that the developers could reference in newer applications.
